USS West Virginia - December 7, 1941

Paul Thompson
USS West Virginia was sunk at Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941.  However she was soon refloated and in the summer of 1942 returned to the mainland for a major overhaul at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.  The WeeVee, as she was known, returned to the fight in 1944.

Paul Thompson served on USS Yorktown from December 1941 to June 1942 and then USS West Virginia from August 1942 to October 1945.  Mr. Thompson loaned his rare and valuable copy of
'USS WEST VIRGINIA - Crosses The Equator Again'
for the attached links of this historic occasion.

Thank you Mr. Thompson
